Rosatom creates joint-venture with the Dutch wind turbine manufacturer Lagerwey
NovaWing, a wholly-owned company of Rosatom, creates joint-venture with the Dutch wind turbine manufacturer Lagerwey, which will be called RedWind. Under the agreement between the two companies, Lagerwey will provide the Russian partner with a transfer of technology to produce 2.5 megawatts and 4.5 megawatts of wind turbines and share its competencies in the field of wind farm creation.
The Dutch partner will help RedWind to train the staff needed to produce wind turbines and wind farm operations. Lagerwey will also deliver components for the first 60 wind turbines.
RedWind will be responsible for the marketing, sale and delivery of turnkey wind turbines and their subsequent maintenance. The company will be engaged in the implementation of the program for localization of production as well as the qualification of the suppliers and the negotiation of the components of the NovaVind production site in Volgodonsk.
The current production program foresees the delivery of 388 wind turbines to the joint ventures of the countries by 2022. The owner of the wind farms and the electricity supplier will be the Russian company VetroOGK.
The announcement of the joint-venture was made in Amsterdam at the WindEurope exhibition by Alexander Korchagin, CEO of NovaWind, and Lagerwey CEO Hug Morels.
